I loved Roseanne Conner(not Roseanne Barr) and I hate she won’t be there.
Oh well I will watch, don’t know how I will feel about it though..

Same here. With Laurie Metcalf, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert in the cast, I'm watching.

"Roseanne" without Roseanne? It could work!

This whole situation reminds me how the networks tried to continue ‘Chico & The Man’ after the suicide of Freddie Prinze with new characters and the series floundered to cancellation.

Whether you liked her or not, Rosanne Barr was a major force in the success of her show, and any possible success of the new series without her will, at the most, be interesting.

It’s bizarre that there are people who think movie star John Goodman and Academy Award nominee Laurie Metcalf can’t keep this ship sailing.

That was a nasty death of a show.

Eh, they're sort of similar situations but also different.

The Conners is a spinoff purposely made without Rosanne. Chico And The Man was the same show continuing because Freddie Prinze died and couldn't return and they said his character was away somewhere.

Roseanne Conner isn't away on a months-long trip to an Uber convention or something- they're killing the character off and at least somewhat retooling the focus of the show in a controlled and planned situation.

Also I think that comparatively speaking, The Conners has a much stronger and more capable cast than Chico And The Man did.

Hey, maybe Vicki Lawrence's character from this episode...

John Goodman did have a shot at starring in a sitcom after ‘Rosanne’, ‘Normal, Ohio’, which barely lasted a season. He’s done much better as a guest star and in films.

If they have the Roseanne character die, it shouldn't be from illness or accident, but after pissing off the wrong person.
