Hey guys, sorry to bring up an old thread, however I found one of the mixes that "got away". It is a mix by Mark Saunders, he has done many official remixes for The Cure. I'm not sure why this didn't get on a CD release. Perhaps not enough room on CD.

    The "three that got away":

    PRIMARY - Extended Mix 1981 - remastered 2018
    THE LOVECATS - Extended Version 1983 - remastered 2018
    INBETWEEN DAYS - Extended Version 1985 - remastered 2018

It's been a year later. Has anybody seen these surface anywhere?

Been a while since it was released but torn down is a great coda for The Cure best of “what if?” Deep cuts.
I love every bit of it and just got it on black vinyl for a decent price 20euros so I got it.
The best thing The Cure has released since “Wish” or, to a lesser extent, “Join The Dots”.

Since my last comments in this thread I acquired this set and was blown away by how great it was. I guess I had lowered expectations based on how I wasn't really taken by Mixed Up in its original release, but the added material really lifts the whole project up, especially the third disc of remixes.

Totally agree about disc 2 and 3.
I am not generally fond of the Mixed up tracks on cd 1 (and, to a lesser extent, on disc 2) that were added to the project and were not originally extended versions. Those sounded to me like thrown away tracks made for a fast released to please the fans and so they belong to a trade (Manchester or techno sound), they haven’t passed the aging test IMHO but the extended versions are sonic bliss, particularly in their original issues : 12” . And oh those b sides ! The sound will never equal those 12” , nor on Join The Dots neither on Mixed Up in whatever incarnations.
That’s a pity Love Cats weren’t on the deluxe, while not as essential as others, the double bass extra snapshot was huge on the (not much) extended version.

    No kidding Steve....
Nice to see them in digital though for those not wanting to do their own transfers or don't want to mess with vinyl (which I completely understand and respect)

By the way, there was mention about the two missing 12" versions not on this set, we're going to be available as downloads.

Last time I looked, they weren't.

One was In between Days, I think.

    Did that ever happen?

Not that I know of. The missing three are Primary Lovecats, and Inbetween Days.

I’m a huge fan of original album, and having the two bonus discs makes it even an greater release for me.

I can see how it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea if they prefer the rock side of The Cure.

I've been playing the 3 disc version a lot recently,it's easily my favourite of deluxe editions, Torn down is almost worth the price of admission alone!

I was just listening to this today and I still love the sound quality of it. Why couldn't the Disintegration remaster sound this good?

    "Digital gets Disrespected".

Would have paid for 3 discs just to get 1!
    Disc 2 w/the mostly 80's era remixes.

While the topic of this thread's lowly plastic got smashed:

Criminal to leave all that dynamic range off the Shiny Silver Spinners.

    * well aware of the variance between analog sourced ratings. Yet it is clear both 2018 LP's are rated at a DR of 12 [10-13]. However, digital sources [physical media & downloads] are very reliably rated [except of course Needle Drops, Upsampled, & fan re-EQ'ed Zeros & Ones].
