Hitler supposedly escaped to Argentina in a U-boat. Hundreds of other Nazis also escaped to Argentina which is not disputed. There's even an unclassified document talking about it, or at least the belief among others that he escaped Berlin. I'd escape also if I had the means. If Hitler wanted to escape to the coast and get on a U-boat I'm sure that could have been arranged. This whole notion of a depressed Hitler going down with the Reich and killing himself I find a bit too dramatic and too tidy of an ending to the story. It's too much of a convenient book-ender. The body found burned may have been one of his "doubles". Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden had "doubles" as well.
I don't believe that the existence of Hitler is a secret that could be kept. If he was alive someone would have leaked it.
I have no idea. I guess it depends on several factors: 1) Ratings 2) Do the Lagina's find the treasure this season? 3) Do the Lagina's give up this season? Considering the relatively short window of time they have to work with and what they've accomplished so far, I guessing there will be at least one more season.
When I was a kid in Rhode Island in the 60s we went to buy a boat from a guy who had several because he'd found a cache of gold in an old stone wall which reportedly was a treasure of Captain Kidd (or maybe it was Blackbeard, it's been a long time). The idea of finding my own buried treasure has gripped me ever since.
It's not cool to disrupt natural wetlands. It's bad for the environment. And to do so in the name of infotainment....
Not quite in the same manner and a little more academic, but this is worth a view (if you can access it outside the UK: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06ryn6l/secrets-of-the-mona-lisa I imagine his "findings!" (and bear in mind the presenter is an established and serious art critic) haven't gone down well in some quarters The Mona Lisa: bewitching, seductive, world famous. In the minds of millions, she is the ultimate work of art. Yet behind the enigmatic smile, she remains a mystery, fuelling endless speculation and theories. But is that all about to change? Is the world's most famous painting finally giving up its secrets? Presented by Andrew Graham-Dixon, this landmark film uses new evidence to investigate the truth behind her identity and where she lived. It decodes centuries-old documents and uses state-of-the-art technology that could unlock the long-hidden truths of history's most iconic work of art.
The Irony though, no one would have believed it! Think about it a minute. "Hey I saw Hitler!" Sounds laughable. But that is exactly why it "Could be possible" so easily. Probably did not happen that way, but who would truly believe it was him??
I've not watched this at all other than flipping across it once in a while. History Channel should send the Storage Wars crew, The Pawn Shop guys, and the American Picker trio there. They'll find something (planted?), and there will be a nice all evening crossover special.
I think we all know they'll find nothing other than contrived discoveries to keep it going I'm looking forward to 'The Curse of Staten Island', the search for the perfect pizza.
Maybe they could arrange to leave them all there permanently, as that would be one reality show I would watch.
I don't know, Pal Joey's is pretty good, amongst the many - there just might be buried treasure there...
And while these explorers are rooting around in the muck of some obscure Canadian island, real treasure hunters hit the mother load off the coast of Venuzuela in the form of a gold loaded Spanish galleon. No Masons or Templer curses, just a whole lot of gold. The History Channel is a bad joke.
Was this discussed yet? https://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/dai...ed-off-nova-scotias-oak-island-195223301.html
"He explains that the discovery came about after a father and son were scalloping off Oak Island. The father kept the sword for decades, and passed it along to his wife when he died. It was then passed along to her daughter, who gave it to her husband, who eventually brought it forward to researchers." Pretty sketchy timeline to "rewrite history" on.
I believe Pulitzer has been on the show, but so far, there's been no mention of this sword. He doesn't give off very good ethical vibes to me - despite his last name.
