I don't know. We saw the trailer in the theater last weekend. It's hard to tell what a film is like based upon trailers with quick cuts of various unrelated scenes (often emphasizing humorous one-liners), but I'm fatigued w/ zombie fare and this trailer didn't make me want to see it.

I saw the trailer yesterday & assumed it was going to be Zombieland II.

Yeah, that looks like a hoot. Adam Driver seems to be on quite the roll these days.

    Here's what she Tweeted:

    265) The Dead Don't Die @ RE21. An "Early Access" screening. I thought sure I'd love it to pieces, and I didn't, not like I did Only Lovers Left Alive. I did like it, & there are a lot of fun & interesting things about it (like that cast!). I might go see it again when it opens.

Does your wife ever buy a movie on DVD/Blu-Ray to watch at home? Maybe if she is too sick to go to the theater.

She's not a great reviewer because she goes out of her way to avoid offending anybody.

She thought it would be great and it was only okay.

We watched some movies in our home theater when I was home last week, but those were the first ones that she'd watched in there in a couple of years.

It would be interesting to see which movies she finds worth buying.

She and I haven't been buying loads of DVDs in several years, but back when we were, we amassed a sizable collection 2,000 or so discs. Hollywood, art house, Bollywood, Chinese, whatever interests us.

This photo was taken a long time ago, and all the shelves have been filled with DVDs except the Betamax sized ones at the top:

The trailer somehow made me think of late 60s Bob Hope movies.

Not only are we getting a Jim Jarmusch zombie film, but a Sturgill Simpson title track along with it! Just got an email that the track “The Dead Don’t Die” will be available on CD, 7” and download. Download available now, CD in July and vinyl in August.

I planned to see this one but the reviews have been pretty meh and implied it's a slooooow ride...

  23. Saw it last night

Very disappointed and I’m a big JJ fan. Script is meh with a few great short bits. Uneven all around. All the best parts are in the trailer.

The best part of the entire film is the ongoing Sturgill Simpson music bit (he even plays a zombie with a guitar ).

Ultimately flawed, but I chuckled throughout and overall liked it for the slow pace and droll delivery throughout.

Didn't need the Fargo thing at all, but my son called it before it happened and hadn't even seen the Fargo series.
