There is a 60 second clip from the final episode floating around on YouTube. Looks like another episode of long sincere discussions.
Generally I agree about Cara Gee.. She's one of the better actors on the series. But the time for character development is in seasons past, not in the penultimate episode. I really enjoyed her scenes with Klaus Ashford a couple of seasons back. But I've never seen David Strathairn in anything that he didn't chew up the screen.
Given how little time they had to wrap things up in the final episode, I thought they did a satisfying job of concluding the Free Navy saga. I can’t imagine the producers would have invested so much time in the Laconia sub plot in such a short season without some intention of another series being made sometime.
Yeah, I had no idea last night's episode was the last of the season nor even the end of the series (I never read anything about a series when I am watching it). As an stand alone episode it was great, but I am unsatisfied with the show wrapping up this way: what was the point of the Laconia subplot which took up so much valuable time for each of this season's episodes? A real head scratcher.
Lots of action and a good ending to the series. What follows (video wise) is anyone's guess. The Roci faces years of making do. The gates will get continued usage and the Laconians (sp?) will eventually show up. The question is whether anyone will be able to fashion the remaining books into as provocative and compelling production that the first six seasons have been?
Watched the first two of season 6 last night. Looking forward to two more tonight. I just love the look of this show.
Finished up season 6. Not too bad. Hoping there's more but in the meantime I'm going to start reading the books.
They left plenty of plot threads on the table, but I don't think anybody's gonna pick up those bread crumbs. Who's gonna pay for that if Bezos isn't. Finale felt like an episode-and-a-half crammed into one episode.
Just started watching this on Amazon Prime. First two episodes of Season 1 were beyond boring IMHO. Nothing about the storyline nor any of characters are even remotely interesting. But it’s acclaimed and seems popular here. Should I keep going, does it get better with time?
Yes, but the series doesn't find its sea legs until Season 2. Seasons 2-4 are the core of the series. Brilliant.
It does get better. And my viewing early on was helped by reading explanations online of each episode to understand the nuances and politics behind the action. JohnK
I guess you have to keep some things in mind; it's "hard" sci-fi, so that can be off putting. It's also a socio-political drama in space, so yeah, you may find it boring. But; if you hang on for the ride there is some great action, space battles and other stuff I don't want to spoil.
