The Truckin’>drums>Other One>Feedback>melodic jam on part 4 is especially a treat to view. Also, if you happen to be spending time watching Beat Club performances on the ‘Tube, it won’t hurt you to watch the Weather Report one from 6/22/71:
Cracked open the Get Shown the Light Box one more time Eyes from Boston Garden 5/7/77 is spectacular - what follows is even greater. For the 77 naysayers.
Dupree's Diamond Blues is such a weird little tune. One of my fav's. Sad I never tracked one down live. This version from Ontario 1984 has a few ripping envelope filtered solos. Check it out!
10/21/78 Winterland. Currently I’m that guy on the train that keeps closing his eyes and moving his head back and forth to the groove.
Off topic, but where did you get that Buddha? I have one that looks almost identical from one that I got from my grandfather (post 12 tone classical composer Gardner Jencks, who knew a lot of Phil Lesh and TC's heroes from the mid 20th century. I grew up listening to all that stuff. As well as the folk stuff that influenced Jerry, as my mom was good friends with Ralph Rinzler. See, on topic!) that he had forever.
My band covered 4/19/1987 last night (Bicycle Day!). Not a big fan of the 80s Dead, but after playing through that setlist, I have to say it was a lot of fun!
April 20, 1969 Clark University Worcester, Massachusetts April 20, 1969 Check out Dark Star. This version was offered as part of 30 Days of Dead 2015.
Great Show and a great story too: The show was originally scheduled for 4-19 but the Dead's sound system hadn't arrived yet (they played a show at Purdue University in Indiana the night before.) The show was rescheduled for the following night, but the only way Rahsaan would agree is if he was switched from opener to headliner. Details agreed upon, the show went on the following night. This is a comment from an attendee: [brackets are mine] "There was a jug of lemonade(?) passed around that turned out to be dosed with Owsley's favorite. According to [the] story, he also managed to dose all of Kirk's band, but not Kirk himself. After the show, Kirk appeared just offstage near the front seats of the auditorium. One of our classmates said something to him that upset him, and he said "Where's my gun?" and started feeling the bags on his walking stick (which had something like animal-skin bags on the sides and a roller skate wheel on the bottom). We thought it was a joke, but his road manager said, "He ain't kidding, man!" and ducked behind a seat. Everyone scattered, but somebody calmed him down and he departed with our friend, Paul Pena for a night in Boston." [I assume that's the musician/songwriter Paul Pena, who was a student at Clark at the time, I just noticed that detail for the first time tonight] www.archive.org/details/gd69-04-20.sbd.lutch.4992.sbeok.shnf A couple of other comments mention Rahsaan's gun, one saying that it was only after he started waving it around that he was switched to headliner.
I must say I love the new Warfield release. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same but for me there’s a real different feel between the 2 nights. The Bird Song especially on 10/10 is much looser than the previous night. It’s a shame the electric sets aren’t deemed releasable.
I opened mine last night, wow this sounds amazing! It's crankable and sounds like Jerry's pickin right next to me! I am hoping for the electric sets next RSD.
21 April 1978- Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY. More rollicking tunes from '78. PS- And a very melty Playing In The Band.
I wasn’t enthusiastic about this, I thought it was going to be repetitive and I think the orange construction barrel font was odd. It’s fantastic and has a sound of its own, different from reckoning and arguably better.
Dead of the Day: April 21, 1969 April 21, 1969 The Ark Boston, Massachusetts Ark Box! Ark Box! ARK BOX!
I think they have cassettes, but possibly not the complete sets in reels which I believe they had for the acoustic sets.
There is the Dead Ahead dvd and Dead Set cd from one of the Radio City shows if you want one of the electric sets.

PS. I take it you're a Mike Gordon fan. Back in the day, I worked with him on his slap technique and we collaborated on a bunch effects stuff. From the Paradise in 1992, Mike sat in with Shockra:
Alas, word is that once they selected the takes for Reckoning and Dead Set, they erased and reused the multitrack tapes of those shows.
