I'm surprised there isn't far more excitement here about the Workingman's Dead studio takes thing. It's surely a 50 year copyright dump release. Sadly for me, I can't even find it. When I follow the link from the Dead's email, there's no sign of it at the end. I wonder if it's geoblocked...or has been taken down already... Would have been nice to have a giant Workingman's Dead box option containing all of this stuff...or even a giant 1970 box for both studio albums, with all outtakes, single mixes, etc. There's more than the 35 minutes if you include what's on Road Trips 2.2: a Viola Lee and a Schoolgirl. Great show. Maybe my favourite of that calendar year.
Adding that one ty Relisten lineup. Today 10/27/72 Columbus Truckin’>TOO> Half Step> Dew and then Portland 1973 DS>Eyes>China
It's only on streaming services. There's more discussion in the 50th Anniversary thread. Grateful Dead Workingman's Dead 50th Anniversary deluxe?
I listened to July 1, 1979 Seattle, today. On the surface you'd think it's nothing special, but it's packing some good sh!t under the hood. This show's a sleeper. A solid B+/A-
I also appreciate how much hard work they put into Workingman's Dead to make it just exactly perfect.
I know but when I follow all the links from the email, they take me to various streaming services and it's not there, hence my suspicion it might not be available to an Australian IP address.
Its definitely available in Australia. Which streaming service do you subscribe to? I'm just asking as I've checked the email again, clicked on the IMBIBE HERE button where it brings up a list of steaming platforms, then selected Apple Music. It then takes you to the album.
Listening to 12/26/69 Dallas Dark Star. Remember really digging parts of this show a few months ago, DS in particular.
I have a multi gen cassette sbd I have not listened to in years but only one set and no Dark Star. Is there a CM remaster of that in circulation? Now you have me thinking I need to find it dammit.
You just reminded me of this disaster. I would have been angry for weeks had I gone to this show: Sam Boyd Silver Bowl, UNLV, Las Vegas, NV (Saturday, 6/25/94) Set II If the Shoe Fits Way to go Home Easy Answers -> Uncle John's Band -> Corrina -> Drums -> Space -> The Last Time -> Stella Blue -> One More Saturday Night E: Liberty
Great, Thanks! I have not heard either of those shows in many years. I have single set cassettes from both nights but do not have the complete shows. Plus my only tape setup is on the basement stereo.
I listened, just for fun, a few weeks ago, when I found out about that show. Not only is the set list pretty brutal but they screwed up a bunch of lyrics!
