Cool. I mean 31 and 36 are in my bottom 5 but to each his own. I still do like both a lot. Cool to see the different tastes.

I’ve felt that way at Shoreline, more than one time. ;).

So jumping out of my '71 obsession this week to 10/27/79 Cape Cod Coliseum, South Yarmoth Ma. Pretty random I know. I dig this show plus it reminds me of living down at Cape Cod during summers between college. Much later ('90-'92) than the actual show.

If any of you who have been talking about MSG '88 lately, or '88 in general, and haven't listened to 9/16/88, I'd recommend it as a strong show for the era. It was Friday night at MSG and band and crowd were LIT. A rocking good time. I had much better seats for the other 3 shows that run (including a couple nights near the front on the floor), and was way up in the second tier for 9/16, but that didn't matter much as it was easier a better show.

During the first set, my friend and I were seated among GD family, and wound up in between a mother and her teenage daughter who were arguing about the teen's use of lipstick. That added a whole other bizarre element to the mix.

9/21/72 (Dick’s 36) is in your bottom 5??? This is one of the best
5 or 10 Grateful Dead shows ever. I’ve never heard one Dead fan who rates this release anything less than spectacular.

All y'all are talking about Dick's Picks and Dave's Picks- but not necessarily in agreement about which is which. If you follow my meaning. :tiphat:

Both Shoreline runs in 1991 were excellent for latter-day Dead. So much damn fun! My then-crew of early 20-somethings hooked up with an old head in a schoolbus by the lot near the main entrance who had some N2O tanks in his schoolbus (outfitted with a facemask apparatus no less), and listened to tapes of Winterland '74 whilst chugging hits for an hour, was glorious and one of the most 'out there' moments of my life. If you have ever experienced a '74 Darkstar on nitrous oxide, you may know what I mean.

5/12/91 remains one of my favorite latter-day Dead shows of all time, they even nailed the Picasso Moon opener, which was no small feat! Such great memories!

Dude, I’m ranking Dave you’re ranking Dick. Dick 36 (and 31) are top 5!!! I was trying to be nice that you had both 87 and the 79 picks in your top 5!

After listening to 11/26/72 today multiple times, 9/21/72 doesn’t come close to touching it.

That 1st set is high octane energetic. It dips a bit in the 2nd, but it’s a stellar show.

There’s been a pretty stellar recent Dave’s threesome:

    32 — The Spectrum, 24/03/73
    33 — DeKalb, 29/10/77
    34 — Jai-Alai Fronton, 23/06/74

I mean, that’s pretty bloody good stuff right there!
