Stevie Nicks. Just listen to the early live versions of Rhiannon, especially the end sequence, really rocking. Not been anyone to get close in my opinion. Shame following doctors orders she was unable to belt out so much.
Definitely not. Great artist, and I'd much rather listen to her than the likes of Whitney or Barbara,, but not so much because of pure vocal talent.
Though not a fan, Whitney is definitely up there. My personal choice would be Bonnie Raitt. Listen to I Can’t Make You Love Me, pure bliss.
Not my favourite sopranos by a long chalk but Joan Sutherland and Elizabeth Schwarzkopf have to be up there. Ella from the jazz realm, again purely on technique. Plenty of unknown (to the general public) gospel singers from the 60s and 70s who could smoke their soul contemporaries for technical bravura. And what about Fairuz or Oum Kalthoum? All in all it's got to be Joanie I'm afraid. Not for my listening pleasure though.
I’m not a Country Western fan but Sara Evans’ voice is incredible. There’s something about her voice that gets me every time lol. In the same genre LeAnn Rimes has a great voice. I remember when she first emerged on the scene many people compared her voice to Patsy Cline. Don’t know about that, but she has a beautiful voice
