These guys are great. I like the next album Wasted in America even more than Blackout.

The first Love/Hate album is classic. Never really got into the second one.

I saw Kiss on the Hot in the Shade tour with Danger Danger and Slaughter opening. That was some hair metal goodness.

I think Yucca Man, Happy Hour, and Tranquilizer from Wasted In America is one of the best 3 consecutive metal songs in a row from the entire 1990s.

Maybe Jizzy's vocals? His style is more metal/punk than grunge.

Oh man, I don't remember this song or band at all. And I am a child of the hair metal era - I graduated high school in 1992.

    This is terrific.

I grew up on country, hair metal, arena rock, and Christian rock. I don't listen to that last one anymore, but I still love a bit of Stryper now and then. It makes me all nostaligic-like.

This was always my favorite Stryper song, especially for Oz Fox's guitar work. This is a pretty sweet (hehe) acoustic version.

I like it all, but I'm a little more into the later stages of hair metal myself, say 1989-1993 or so. The sound quality on most of the later stage stuff is really strong too. Anyway, some good ones-

Poison- Flesh N Blood, Native Tongue
    Stryper- Against The Law
Extreme- III Sides To Every Story
Van Halen- For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge
    Tesla- Psychotic Supper
    Slaughter- Stick It To Ya
    Vince Neil- Exposed
    Lynch Mob- Wicked Sensation
    Damn Yankees- Self Titled

CoS is a great album. Master and Slave is one of the best songs Kiss ever did.

I saw them live like 30 times!!

    Anyone remember Tora Tora?
    Or D.A.D.?
    Or Rock City Angels?
    Or The Hangmen?
    Or Drivin N Cryin?
    Or Enuff Z Nuff?
    Or The Throbs?
    Blue Murder?
    Badlands?

Some of my faves from back then. All mostly forgotten now or underrated at least.

First time I've heard Heaven's Edge. Good song. I know the name because they played at a festival I was due to go to but ended up missing, about seven or eight years ago.

There are quite a few newer bands playing retro hair metal/80s rock and a lot of them are good. One of my favorite songs from this scene is "Colour My XTC" by Talisman, which could have been a huge hit if it had been released in the 80s. In fact, it's such a good song that I've neglected the rest of the Humanimal album because I keep coming back to that song.

In terms of the classics, my favorite hair metal band is Skid Row and my least favorite is Guns 'n' Roses, mainly because of Axl's voice. I'm also one of the few people that prefer's TSOL's hair metal music to their punk music. I even like Discharge's attempt at hair metal better than their old stuff!
