Thelonious himself Solo Piano By Thelonious Monk (Riverside) SHM-CD Recorded 1957 Excellent solo record from Monk which also features a version of Monks Mood' with Monk on piano, John Coltrane (tenor sax), and Wilbur Ware (bass). On this 9 track Japanese SHM-CD edition Monks Mood is followed by a 21 odd minute outtake titled Round Midnight (in progress)
Two excellent non-jazz Mosaic sets, and two of the best they ever did. Pity they didn't release more Blues/R&B sets from that era.

For The Moment - Barry Harris (Uptown) CD with Barry Harris (piano), Rufus Reid (bass), Leroy Williams (drums) Recorded March 1884 at Jazz Cultural Theatre, NYC. 13 track CD edition has a playing time of 77 minutes and is a reissue of Uptown Records LP UP 27.20, with five previously unissued tracks added. *This is a well recorded live trio album. It is full of atmosphere and includes a wide variety of material. I found a copy of this in the online bargains and am very impressed with it all. The CD edition certainly blows away the online sound samples I had been checking out. "One has to do something to try and develop an audience for Jazz. We don't get exposure. It's like the media is against us" - Barry Harris in the 12 page booklet that is included.
