Freddie Hubbard takes outstanding solos (f.i on both Kenny Dorham compositions aka "Asiatic Raes" and "Karioka") and Hank Mobley performs nothing short of sensational here .... beloved platter of mine ....

Richie Kamuca (ts) + Conte Candoli (tp) + Russ Freeman (p) + Chuck Berghofer (b) + Shelly Manne (dr) .... mistaken by some as an early 60 `s West Coast Jazz revival in contrary this is a tight band caught during its peak .... lot to rave about here like the fluent tenorsax solo work by Richie Kamuca, the velvety trumpet tone of Conte Candoli and some miraculous pianism by Russ Freeman .... and don`t forget ace bassman Chuck Berghofer (of Nancy Sinatra "These Boots Are Made For Walking" bassline fame) .... never properly reissued on CD ....
