Hey SJR, I got family visiting our siblings in Victoria right now. I have a brother in Oak Park and a sister in Jacana! Last time I was in Melbourne was in '06. Best regards. And yes, your postings are always great!
It sounds great since the recording crew includes Shawn Murphy who recorded a lot of great sounding scores by James Horner and John Williams.
Clifford Jordan – Dr. Chicago Label: Bee Hive Records – BH 7018 Acoustic Bass – Ed Howard Drums – Vernell Fournier Flugelhorn – Red Rodney (tracks: A2) Piano – Jaki Byard Tenor Saxophone – Clifford Jordan Trumpet – Red Rodney (tracks: B1) Recorded August 3, 1984. Song highlights are when Red Rodney joins the quartet, esp on Touch Love, where he plays off of Byard so well. The other track he's on is a 12 minute version of Ellington/Strayhorn's Something to Live For, another great track from this LP.
