Pure Pleasure is doing a terrific job with the Strata East Catalog. I have several originals and I find the remasters to sound better and they are definitely more affordable. Also, who is pressing their records? They are flawless. Can't recommend this series enough!
(LP Riverside Victor Japan "Riverside Original Recording Series" SMJ-6062) 1974 .... recorded October 18 and 20, 1959 "live" The Jazz Workshop San Francisco .... Cannonball Adderley (as) + Nat Adderley (co) + Bobby Timmons (p) + Sam Jones (b) + Louis Hayes (dr) .... when ever some enchantment is requiered this platter always come up trumps .... strongly believe this being both the best Adderley brotherhood group and live recording .... the Adderleys are unquestionably in peak form and Bobby Timmons (for me Adderley`s most soulful pianist by far) + Sam Jones + Louis Hayes are a near perfect foil .... btw an excellent sounding Victor Japan vinyl edition from the mid70`s ....

Sonny Rollins (ts) + Ray Bryant (p) + Walter Booker (b) + Mickey Roker (dr) .... discussed this platter in another forum and a re-play was nearly mandatory .... Sonny Rollins pushes the conventional (though excellent) rhythm section to new heights .... still rising in my appreciaton after all these years ....
