Those Japan 75th SHM-CD's sound fantastic! This is one of my favorite Andrew Hill albums, and the bonus tracks on this edition are exceptional.

I love this album. And Time and Time Again. And Lost in a Dream (which I'm currently playing). Wish any of them would be released on vinyl.

I found that there is no recording of Ceil Taylor out there until Nailed, which was recorded in 1990, in which CT played with sax, bass and drums (as quartet) throughout the whole album. This is the first and maybe the last.

  15. Superb album - also issued on CD!

Piano Reflections - DUKE ELLINGTON (Capitol Jazz) CD

There are 15 tracks on this CD edition. 12 are solo piano pieces, while the last three selections feature Duke (piano), Wendell Marshall (bass) & Dave Black (drums).

1989 CD Digital Transfers - Ron McMaster.

I love this (mainly) Trio album from 1953.

*All 12 piano solo tracks were also issued on the Duke plays ELLINGTON album (albeit in a different running order).

Over this past weekend I listened to the first two discs of the Coltrane Complete VV set and Disc 4 of Miles' Complete Jack Johnson. All phenomenal. That disc in the JJ set became my favorite of the whole set so far. Unbelievably funky.

(LP CTI Records German Press Gatefold CTI-6014) 1976 .... recorded November 1971 @ Van Gelder Studios .... Joe Farrell (ts, ss, fl) + Chick Corea (e-p) + Buster Williams (b) + Jack DeJohnette (dr) + Airto (perc) .... although not being a die hard both Joe Farrell and Chick Corea follower at all this platter very much nails it and obviously Buster Williams (his best performance in the 70`s ?) + Elvin Jones are co-responsible for making this session an unreserved success ..... the dead silent German vinyl press offers beautiful sound ....

  23. I recently got wise to how good Chico Hamilton Impulse albums are. I'm now in the mood to revisit a couple of these gems again.

THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF EL CHICO - CHICO HAMILTON (Impulse!) CD (1966)

Impossible for me to ignore any albums that feature both Chico Hamilton & Gabor Szabo!

Both discs above were issued back to back in 2011 on an Impulse! 2-on-1/twofer CD
