Complete Studio Recordings - GERRY MULLIGAN SEXTET CD featuring ART FARMER, BOB BROOKMEYER & JIM HALL with Bill Crow (bass), Dave Bailey (drums). Got this 'cloned' Euro Lone Hill Jazz 2005 CD 'copy' years before I was aware the company had no rights to these Philips/Limelight | Mercury recordings. The music is great but the sound is just OK, if a bit flat at times. All tracks from NIGHT LIGHTS (CD version) and the deleted BUTTERFLY WITH HICCUPS LP are included as well as an 8 page booklet.
MR. BLUES - HANK CRAWFORD (Atlantic) CD Recorded in NYC, 1965 & 1966 & originally issued on LP in 1967. Love the big and full sound on these excellent top notch Soul Jazz sessions. CD re-issued in 24-bit via Atlantic's Jazz 1000 Best Collection series.

Charlie Rouse (ts) + Thelonious Monk (p) + Larry Gales (b) + Ben Riley (dr) .... it is just Friday 11th but a perfect time to play Thelonious Monk nevertheless .... btw underappreciated Charlie Rouse really shines here .... wonderful music to start the day ....

Lester Bowie – The 5th Power Label: Black Saint Format: CD, Album, Reissue Country: Italy Style: Free Jazz Alto Saxophone – Arthur Blythe Bass – Malachi Favors Drums – Phillip Wilson Piano, Vocals – Amina Myers* Trumpet – Lester Bowie Recorded April 1978. Discogs says the style is free jazz, but there's quite a bit of structure and in-the-box playing at times. A very good album IMO.
Think I’ll give this a spin just love this record that I found out about a few years ago because of this thread. My wife also likes this cover upfront on the stack in the living room.
