ASHES TO ASHES - JOE SAMPLE (Warner Bros.) CD / 24-bit remaster Recorded 1990. CD mastered by Doug Sax. CD issued as part of the Japanese Warner series Fusion Best Collection 1000 series. Smooth fusion with some nice touches here and ther and even though it is almost muzak at times it is still worth a listen. Joe Sample - Ashes To Ashes
I guess they have pretty well disappeared. I have 73 XRCD titles. Most are from the mid-90's. The "newest" titles I have are from 2010-2013 but nothing since.

The ones mastered by Alan Yoshida sound great, others that were mastered in Japan by Japanese engineers not so much - too "pumped up", harsh and sometimes loud. All in my opinion, of course The Audio Wave/Blue Note XRCDs, done by Mr Yoshida, are excellent.

This title has so many different versions and opinions on which one is the best sounding it is mind boggling.

BACK ON INDIANA AVENUE | THE CARROLL DeCAMP RECORDINGS - Wes Montgomery (Resonance) 2CD - issued 2019 Recorded possibly in the mid- to late 1950s in Indianapolis, Indiana. Exact recording dates, locations, and supporting musicians are not known. Attractively packaged in triple cardboard gatefold sleeve with 44 page booklet included. Sound quality on disc 1 is good. The quality drops a bit here and there on disc 2 but all things considered that's understandable.
