Mateo Sanboval For me, the action is the juice.

Someone in here or the Jazz And Conversation thread turned me on to this a few months back when they posted about it being an album they enjoyed while cooking. That caught my attention as I was pushing myself to cook more at the time so I streamed it a few nights in a row, loved it, and then came across this NM Japanese pressing a few weeks later. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go check on the salmon.

I have the vinyl version of this album and really enjoy it along with other live Lloyd albums such as Love In, The Flowering and Forest Flower. He and his band members elicit a very positive response from their audiences and genuinely connect with them.

Happy birthday to jazz alto saxophonist, Julian Edwin "Cannonball" Adderley — born September 15, 1928.

In celebration, I'm spinning the Music Matters pressing of Somethin’ Else, arguably his most famous, most popular work . . .

Love your posts and the images you posted, but this is one of the very few Coltrane albums I've never really liked (I know, I'm probably in the minority). To my ears the band isn't a tight unit, and Coltrane is the odd one out here, he doesn't sound comfortable. Your mileage may vary, of course.

:faint: All good. We like what we like.

Blue Train was one of my very first jazz albums, perfect for a newbie (you could say), so holds a special place. I love it. The first side especially is killer, IMO.

Thanks for the positive comment. I’m glad you like my posts/pics :tiphat:

Duke really was something. He could make credible records with Louis Armstrong or Coleman Hawkins one day, and then hang with Mingus and Roach the next.
