An early hard bop cornerstone album by one of the few true giants of the tenor saxophone, overflowing with bold, rhythmic, swinging, melodic music. Any album featuring Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver has got to be good, and sure enough, this is one of the greatest jazz recordings ever made. Fans of Joe Jackson might recognize the album cover. Recorded and released 1957:

One from the latest batch of Tone Poet releases; Donald Byrd’s Byrd In Flight — sessions recorded January 17, January 25 and July 10, 1960. A killer record . . .

The Duke Box 2 DVD combines a series of short films of the Ellington band in action and despite the sound being recorded first and the performances showing the band miming, this curiosum offers a fascinating glimpse of The Duke in action, and the audio is technically excellent - Storyville website

So, the greatest jazz composer and finest band leader of all time got together with the most one of the most brilliant, influential drummers ever, along with the most inventive, creative, ornery, tempestuous man to ever play bass on September 17, 1962, and they made this album. One the freshest, most original piano trio recordings ever made. Released February 1963:
