Some brilliant music on this album. "Line Up", "Requiem", "Turkish Mambo" and "East Thirty-Second " are really special. Lennie Tristano / The New Tristano Rhino CD Reissue
Hi zimmy! Since nobody answered: It's a "Now Playing" thread. You certainly don't have to but if you would like to discuss the music you're playing or others are playing you're more than welcome. You can learn a LOT in these threads... and the lessons can be costly!
and you had *almost* written off 'live', 'wheel stone' (volumes one and two), 'speak to loneliness', and this as too much of a good thing.... righteous without being too out.
All of those are winners! I have to say the 70s were a truly magic time for Hino, Watanabe-san and so many other Japanese heavy hitters. The East Wind reissues should make believers out of a lot of people!!!
Speaking of East Wind, here's a KILLER slab of voodoo-funk infused fusion worthy of mid-70s Miles! Kohsuke Mine Quartet - Solid
Another Henderson - can't get enough! Love this one. Originally bought this because of Kenny Dorham. "Joe Henderson - In 'n Out" (1964) with Kenny Dorham, McCoy Tyner, Richard Davis, Elvin Jones. (Blue Note CD)
(CD Original Jazz Classics Limited Edition OJCCD-1763-2) - excellent platter featuring my fave Harold Land .... and the Rhythm Section Victor Feldman + Leroy Vinnegar + Stan Levey is impeccable ....
Nina Simone - Little Girl Blue Nina Simone, piano & vocal; Jimmy Bond, bass; Albert toot Heath, drums.
Stanley Turrentine with The Three Sounds – Blue Hour—The Complete Sessions: CD 2 / bonus tracks (Blue Note Connoisseur) — With Gene Harris, Andrew Simpins, Bill Dowdy
