  1. Oh snap! I'm surprised that you don't have the alt mix of Axis.

You know, the estate probably doesn't use the alt mix because they don't have the master. There's no telling what happened to the master since it hasn't been in the care of the record companies for at least 30 years.

according to the back of the cd it's ADD so no big loss lol, I've listened to it but the US mix is the one that's imbedded in my brain since I was a grasshopper.

The alt mix is analog, I suspect that is a mistake in the spars code, not uncommon. The reason I say that is that mix is identical to the UK 70s "2-twosome" vinyl set.

I love Hendrix, but Axis might be the least favorite of what he released while he walked the earth. I actually prefer Band Of Gypsys over it by this/much. That said, I will get this at some point.

The reviews made me spin my non Re1 copy, which I haven't done in a few trips around the sun.

Totally disagree. It's his most accessible album out the the trio.

I'm saying it's my least favorite, but this doesn't mean that it isn't accessible.
I don't know if axis is as accessible as AYE.
I'm willing to bet that the average Hendrix fan is more likely to have AYE vs Axis, or a general comp.

Isn't Axis supposed to be numbered? I cannot find it anywhere.

Analogue Productions has never put silly limited edition numbers on anything that I know of.

Well, now that Axis has arrived I suppose we can start looking forward to the eventual release of Are You Experienced on SACD.

If anybody finds a link to preorder that on Amazon, please share it. I have looked and so far have not found that.

When is the blu ray of Ladyland due out? I have preordered that also.

Got the SACD today. My good chair is clearly in the wrong place, but the mono sounds great! Not a mono Phile by inclination, but it does focus the sound in a certain way. Never dreamed I was say that about THIS album.

While Axis is my least favorite of the three Experience albums it is a 10/10 masterpiece. I am really digging the MONO mix on the SACD.

Listened to this a few times now, and it's the best this album has sounded on a digital platform. I'm really glad to finally have the mono mix on something other than vinyl.

Just want to chime in, I got my Axis SACD today and listened to the stereo tracks and it's a great sounding SACD. I didn't compare it to any other versions, but my advice is to get it. Very psychedelic, which, as we all know, is what Jimi intended.
