Well, they had intended on making a sequel to Lola Vs. Powerman at some point (hence the "Part 1" subtitle). It wouldn't be quite as out of left field as a "Muswell Hillbillies: Part 2: 21st Century Men and the Return of the People in Grey."

And it's not like Ray isn't known for revisiting ideas from a fresh perspective and doing a pretty good job with it. I'm thinking specifically about the Preservation albums...

EDIT: Sorry for reviving this...I thought that it was a new post...for some reason, it automatically took me back to page 5 or something and I thought it was the most recent page.

As we wait for a track listing...if you were to include Good Times and/or Anytime on the original album...where would you have placed it/them?

‘Good Good Life‘ would pretty much have to come between Top Of The Pops and Money Go Round to fit into the loose ‘story’ of the album. ‘Anytime’, hmm.. maybe between ‘Rats’ and ‘Got To Be Free’ as the penultimate track emotional climax of the album?

The Good life fits there musically imo too.

I'm surprised at how long we're waiting for the official announcement after the items were on the site.

Reading that Ray possibly rewrote "Anytime" as "The Follower" has made me listen to that song differently... I wonder if it's the protagonist's (The Kinks') address to fans...

    "Anytime you're down
    Anytime you're sad
I'll be there to see you through
    Anytime you're down
    And you're all alone
Come on by and be my friend
    Anytime you're down
    Anytime you're sad
I'll be there to make you glad"

Listen to The Kinks when you're down!

There are some really nice sounding bootlegs from '70-71 (pre-Muswell), if they have no new outtakes I'd love for them to include a live show. Even a live disc compiled from several.

(Wonder why they never did a Peel session during this era?)

Have any of you ever thought to update information on wikipedia about our band?
Unfortunately, everything is neglected there, the latest events, photo releases ... everything.
When compared to other bands, it looks sad. And there is so much to add.
I would love to do it, but my language skills limit me a lot.
Some time ago I was able to update the singles a bit. I also added info about Video clip (lyric video) "Time Song" from 2018.

I would like to participate in this I have a lot of knowledge, willingness and ideas.

    here's a couple ~

Fillmore West ~ 13 Nov 70 (the version I have is called Top of the Rocks)

    Queen's College, Flushing, NY ~ 27 Mar 71

The latter one especially's a gem. If I could've seen them live any time, I think it would be this Lola-Percy era.

I wonder if Ray's Kitchen Sink are new Ray and Dave recordings of old songs? Or maybe it's just Ray and Dave talking about specific songs? I'm also interested in what "The Follower" is going to be. Is it just Ray singing new lyrics over the old Kinks backing track?

Seems that "Ray's Kitchen Sink" handles more than cleaning of vegetables and drainage... ;)

Tracklist looks pretty thorough. Got the orchestra/vocal ensemble stuff in there.
