Before the debut, he was on CBS this morning, where he talked about being jittery about how it would be accepted, since he deliberately wanted it very different.
I'd love to see DeVito do another cameo, he was hysterical.

I'm plowing through season two and I'm enjoying it more than season one. The interplay is sharper and nicer. The cameos and supporting characters are spicing things up when needed. I want more of them.
There are some very emotional moments this season for me and I think that is because parts of my life echo what some of the characters are going through.

I started watching it this week after reading this thread, and am a few episodes in. I think it's fantastic! Smart, and very entertaining. The writing is outstanding and the acting is perfect. Douglas and Arkin are a total pleasure to watch -- thought provoking, witty and 100% believable. Actually, everyone in this series is wonderful and the acting class scenes are a treat. DeVito is great, too.

Really? Hard it imagine it getting any better that what I've already seen!

Season 2 was fantastic. Guess I'll need to wait for 3.

Why is this thread not hundreds of pages long?

People don't like watching old people?

Seriously, there is no discussion among those who watch it--we all think it is great! No one thinks it's useless.

I thought about that, but aren't most of the forum members here in their 60's?

yea, that's why is said 'seriously' afterwards. I think lots of general public don't go for old folks. Actors have to be young, virile, and (if female) dress enticingly .

Some great cameos. I particularly liked Elliott Gould and Kathleen Turner.

This is a great series and I hope it gets a third season. The cameos are great and the “John Cusack” moment was classic!

I know...I watched the first episode with him in it, and didn't realize it was him. I saw his name in the ending credits and had to go back to see where he was...quite bizarre.

I just couldn't believe an actor at his level let himself go so much. I had to do a search to see what he actually looked like outside the role. The makeup and padding were great. But my favourite drop in was the cameos (I think there were two appearances) by Kathleen Turner. She mopped the floor with Michael.

Damn I totally missed the fact that Season 2 was out. Guess I need to binge it this week, since I've reached a break on a project I've been working on. Season 1 was great.

Blew through Season 2 in two days. That was a fun. Alan Arkin is just fantastic, isn't he? I like that Lorre has made both these characters difficult people who are also sympathetic. Bring on Season 3!
