Queen - 'Radio Ga Ga' - Extended Version. Don't know when I played it last time, I don't have many 12'' singles.^^
Yeah I'm a hard core fan. But I never owned the Lovers 12'' until last week - worth every penny. Not least because of the odd cover!
Yes, a very odd image! I wouldn't mind getting a copy myself, but I have both tracks on a 90's compilation CD.
Yes, a collage of a band photo and a gig poster with two lovely ladies in leather boots and stockings. Peter was surrounded by lovely ladies in those days - poet, musician, good looking, drug dealer. John Perry was very unhappy that it looks like he's wearing a body stocking (it's a piece of a lady leg) .
The Dream Academy-Please Please Please, 1985 UK @45 A1-Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want A2-Instrumental B1-In Places On The Run B2-The Party (Acoustic)
Same year for me, but it was Wham! "Everything She Wants" where the far superior version that matched the video was on 12".
As excellent as their rendition of "Please Please Please..." is (and it is excellent), I think that "In Places On The Run" is the most heartbreakingly gorgeous tune that they ever recorded. I didn't realize they'd included it on this 12"! Nice one!
Thanks! Agreed, a wonderful tune! Kinda neat, the 12 for Life In A Northern Town, end of side two there is a backwards masking short of the chorus chant. On this one, end of side two a quick 13 second fade in/fade out of Please.
Been spinning Talk Talk's Colour of Spring era 12"s. Some top-notch b-sides here, too, like "It's Getting Late In The Evening" and "For What It's Worth."
Very nice! I've never seen one. I have the tracks on the CBS Out There In The Night 12", which is on blue vinyl. Edit: I've just looked on Discogs, yes that is a very strange image on the cover! It seems that most 12"s didn't have the picture sleeve.
I have to admit that I strongly prefer the album version, especially in the way it fades in and serves as the opening tune to the ever-glorious Hyæna, but...
