I agree. Not big fan of hers, but she did well in that one.

Not a big fan of Matt Damon either, which is why it took me soo long to watch this next film.
Though I think it was bad casting, I figured since the book was considered so good that the movie was worth watching.
I would have liked it better if he was not the hero.
    Bourne Identity

Beast: on a four-point scale, I give it 3.4 -- which is pretty good. Some formula type stuff, but some unique twists: Beast (2017) - IMDb

I'm not a big fan either, but I thought she was excellent in "Winter's Bone," a film I couldn't recommend more.

Also she was very good in "American Hustle"

"Thief" - this was an impulse buy
because my friend & I are Tuesday
Weld fans & James Caan is a great
actor. I also trust Criterion a lot for
    putting out great movies.

yeah, another Netflix movie that didn't click for me. What was the purpose of John Malkovich's character, anyway?

Waikiki Wedding -1937, Bing Crosby and others. On Friday, I passed by the dvds for sale bin at the grocery store. The box below caught my eye and the first thought I had was -probably some cheap, poor quality stuff. Well, it was cheap, but 9.99 bought a nice little 5 film collection(from Universal).

    Gotti with John Travolta.

I had read this was terrible and an overacted tv movie. It is a tv movie but a good one in structure and execution. The movie sits on Travolta's back. Making Gotti sympathetic is disgusting but Travolta is great with the direction he takes the character. There is no cheese in his performance (ok a little cheese but it's Travolta for gosh sakes) and he plays it as strongly as he can. I bought what he was putting forward within the character. It's maybe a tad strong but it made sense to me in the context of the movie scene he is in. Without him this hack tv movie falls apart. I found it a good retelling of the points we all know about Gotti with a family angle thrown in.

not yet but based on your rec I watched the trailer and added it to our watch list on Netflix. Looks good! Thanks.

Is it me or are most Netflix original movies just weird?

Oh that's the one where they forced Hitchcock to change the ending. A shame.

Not a big fan of her either. Her chameleon face seems to blend into any film ( not just X-Men/Raven guise)think that’s her appeal.

    Like Matt Damon’s earlier films.
