Really enjoyed it, thought it was pretty well done.

  7. The original version of 3:10 to Yuma. Glenn Ford gives a frickin brilliant, cagey performance.

Just viewed The Killing (1956), the great film noir directed by Stanley Kubrick. In glorious B&W it looks terrific on bluray. This one's always fun to watch.

I really liked that film, I thought the performances were great across the board.

  14. Yes you are. Oh, you mean the movie. Yeah, we got that and watched it, too. Aren't we Brave after all?

Still a powerful Kubrick film that has held up remarkably well.

We watched Aliens this evening too, not sure which cut it was as it was just off the DVR from sci-fi channel or HBO or wherever. I liked the first film but this did nothing for me...in need of major editing as it just went nowhere for the longest time. And that little kid....yes, little girls can scream nd it might be effective the first time but the second time it's like "okay, I got it...kid can scream" then when it gets to the third and fourth time I'm rooting for the aliens.

    The Hole (2001)

Effective little British thriller, features Keira Knightley in an early performance.

Fast and Furious 6 - Would have been passable if the action wasn't so badly shot and edited, and at times ridiculously far-fetched. Boy, do I miss The Bandit...

Epic - Fun "forest sprites vs. evil mold creatures" film, good use of 3D. Thought I enjoyed it, I do miss the days when kid flicks weren't just about battles.

Ra-One - Bollywood mix of Tron, Terminator 2, Iron Man and Starman...fun, well-made and has it all (action, drama, romance, musical numbers) like most Indian output. No classic, but certainly entertaining.

Body Fever - Ray Dennis Steckler's attempt at a noir detective film, which isn't half bad, especially taken in the context of his overall output.
