We almost never get Charlie Brown on tv but speaking of The Great Pumpkin I have never forgotten how brilliant that was on the printed page!
Good choice... Have you seen the new animated "Addams Family" movie? I just heard about it, so I didn't even know it was out... I'll probably pick it up when it comes to DVD (as I seem to do with most any "new" movie I think I'd be interested in...)
Season 3 of Atypical, on Netflix. Seriously, you should be watching this show about a kid on the autism spectrum and his family. The acting is superb and the writing is extraordinarily moving.
I don't agree with King that The Haunting of Hill House mini-series is "close to a work of genius." It's okay on its own terms, but no more than okay. The mini-series riffs on the novel and adds so much new material and drags thing out for so long I get impaitient with it to reach the end. They throw everything in. The keep piling on every contingency. A kitchen-sink haunted house series including the kitchen sink itself. The novel by Shirley Jackson -- that's a work of genius.
True Detective Series 1 Absolutely superb. McConaughey and Harrelson were the perfect team. I loved EVERYTHING about the show.
I watched ABC current affairs show 4 Corners. Tonight's episode was about the guy who was the prime suspect in a child's kidnapping. The policeman heading the case was the only person who actually got charged with anything (and that was illegally recording a conversation)
The Morning Show - first episode. Thought it was good, thought-provoking TV. Is Carell playing Matt Lauer here?
Star Trek. Yesterday saw three episodes: The Man Trap, The City On The Edge Of Forever, and The Trouble With Tribbles. I never got into Star Trek before but enjoyed these, esp. The City On The Edge Of Forever.
I'm Alan Partridge. "Right, I'll tell you an anecdote. In 1974 I was catching the London train from Crewe station. It was very crowded; I found myself in a last-minute rush for the one remaining seat beside a tall, good-looking man with collar-length hair, it was the seventies; buckaroo! I looked up and saw it was none other than Peter Purves, it was the height of his Blue Peter career. He said, "You jammy bastard" and quick as a flash, I replied, "Don't be blue, Peter!" Needless to say, I had the last laugh, now f**k off!"
I finally watched all of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt before letting my Netflix subscription lapse. I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Tina Fey is a genius at comedic television.
