    Only Fools And Horses.

Right from the start again. I must be the only person in Britain who hasn't seen all of this series. I watched it up until about 1986 first time around.

Both Only Fools and Horses and Last of the Summer Wine never caught on in Australia. They stopped showing both after the first seasons.

The Bureau (season three 2017) Malotru is held hostage by ISIS but his bosses back in Paris aren't too keen to get him back. Nadia cuts a deal with the General Directorate of External Security where she gets a big map and tries to broker the division of the Middle East once Islamic State are defeated. Phénomène returns from capture in Iran, has a nervous breakdown, quits the Bureau and gets recruited by Mossad. And that's just the first five minutes.

Episode five messes with the formula, it's a great episode but would probably be a bit better if they hadn't been so experimental about it. Once again an amazing final episode.

if you've got a pet dog or even like dogs give this season a big miss

A recent article on Only Fools... - which partly set me off on wanting to watch it - mentioned how the first series wasn't especially well-received in the UK (this seems to tie in with my memory of it not being a big thing in the early days). That's surprising really, as straight from the off the writing is super sharp and very very funny. I was expecting it to take a while to find its stride. It just took a while to find its audience.

    Death In Paradise, S3.

Wasn't sure how I'd take to the change in lead character (Ben Miller was so good), but it's fine :)

The Undoing (HBO). Best miniseries of 2020 hands down. Written and directed by the guy who did Big Little Lies and all-star cast including Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, AND Donald Sutherland.

About the Forbidden City - very fascinating , more than I thought it would be. This city was built in the 1400 s during the Ming Dynasty. The architects figured out a way to make the buildings earthquake proof - with interlocking pieces, and other methods; and so these wooden palaces have survived through the centuries . Amazing.

I am watching the multi-part TV series, “Soviet Storm, WW2 in the East”. It originally aired on Russian TV in 2011. Great series which goes into detail regarding the Eastern Front.

It was ok albeit a little slow. I liked the cast and the New York street scenes. Pretty brutal scene at the end.

I thought their son did it to protect/save his parents' relation. I was waiting right into the last car ride for Hugh Grant's character to say 'I am taking the fall for you'.

Hugh Grant looked scary and evil in that last brutal scene.
