Tin Star on Amazon-Tim Roth as an ex London cop who moves with his family to a small Canadian Rockies town to become police chief. only 5 episodes in and i am enjoying. pretty dark also. alcohol, drugs, tragedy, greed, and the oil business.
The Sparta series on Netflix (Russian) Good, but the ending was disappointingly rushed and unfleshed-out. While investigating the mysterious death of a teacher, a grizzled detective gets caught up in the world of a high-stakes virtual reality game.
just finished season 1 and boy that is some dark stuff. i enjoyed the performances and the cinematography but man it will bring you down IMO. if you enjoyed Bosch or Goliath on Amazon you should enjoy this. going to keep Prime for another month just to move forward with the series.
working on The Right Stuff on Disney+. so far too much melodrama and not enough space program. holding out for now.
Save Me-on Peacock. british who done series with Lennie James and Suranne Jones. two seasons about a man whose daughter disappears and his search for the truth. well written and really well acted by Lennie James. i am starting to think he is one of the best and quite underrated. recommended.
Not really TV shows per se, as they're one off holiday specials, but I watched "Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey", and "The Year Without a Santa Claus".
PBS 1983 special A Matter Of Principal...terrible quality...does anyone have the DVD of this TV Special...if so, how is the Picture quality?
Liar Cast: Ioan Gruffudd, Joanne Froggatt, Zoe Tapper... Taut, psychological thriller. Limited-run series. Soooo good. I've viewed 3 episodes, to date, the last one being ep. 3. Not the same content, but in similar vein as The Undoing, and The Fall. "Liar centres around a couple going on a date and a particular situation allegedly happening, but one of them is the titular liar, but who?"
in case anyone cares, season one ended crazy and season two so far is not as good IMO. tim roth is damn good though.
