I've just smashed through the first four seasons of Homeland in the last month or so. Never seen it before. I wouldn't say it's the greatest TV show I've ever seen or anything like that but it's held my interest so far! Full of plot holes, and Carrie is just starting to annoy me slightly, but I'll press on and watch the whole thing while I'm still digging it :righton:

Oh! Never heard of this, sounds right up my street. I liked Eric Close in Dark Skies and Without a Trace, and Dennis Haysbert was excellent in the early series of 24. Wonder if I can find it here in the UK.

Binged the Netflix-original, British (one season, eight episode) series, "Safe" starring Michael C. Hall (Dexter) over the weekend. It was pretty good, held my interest and kept me guess throughout.

Now 6 episodes in to "The End of the F***ing World" also on Netflix. Strangely, I can't seem to look away.

I made the mistake of watching Mythic Quest. It is terrible. I soldiered through about 3 episodes but when it started trying to make humor out of nazis banding into online gameplay I decided I'd had enough. Not that I think nazis aren't fertile ground for humor, but this show wasn't funny at all.

I only watched last season 10 during first-run. Had never viewed it before. It did grow on me & does elicit lots of good yuks, so I checked out past seasons. Went w/this one after reading some customer reviews & b/c I liked the cast of guest stars I'd read:
Ana Gasteyer, Michael J. Fox, Lenny Venito, Larry Miller, Maggie Wheeler (actress who played Janice on Friends) Michaela Watkins (Lucy, Matthew's girlfriend, on The New Adventures Of Old Christine)

LOVE this show; was a massive fan even before anyone really caught on. We have most of the seasons on DVD, but now we watch an episode pretty much every night via HBO on Demand.

I just don't care for the left-leaning direction he takes the show; the sarcastic fun he pokes at other people's beliefs or opinions is beginning to get old.

The last season wasn't as funny as the ones preceding it.

My wife and I watched the first 4 seasons of Friday Night Dinner - very funny show, with at least a couple of out-loud laughs in each episode. The premise is simple (if you haven't seen it): 2 young adult sons return to their folks' house weekly for dinner. Chaos ensues.

Never really liked the Seinfeld sitcom. Mostly had contempt for its characters. But I do like good writing. In a PBS Newshour interview today Seinfeld made the admission that, essentially, comedy (even stand-up) is based on good writing. I'm an admirer of nearly anything written well. So I'm looking at the top handful of episodes rated the best in the series starting with

The Opposite Season 5, ep. 21

Most of these kids (18-29) feel pretty much the way I felt about the show when it first aired.

In preparation for season six I'm watching Better Call Saul from the beginning. This is my first time through it again after it originally aired so I'm catching a lot more of the subtleties. Gosh, that Betsy Kettleman was a loon!
