I Love Lucy episode with Harpo Marx and Lucy pantomiming each other -talk about comic timing - brilliant ! hilarious! They set the mold with this one. Generations of comics and sitcoms owe a lot to Lucy shows like this. I ' m still smiling. .
Re-watching Chance on Hulu. It's even better than I remembered it. Next will be the new Jack Ryan on Prime.
The Beverly Hillbilles - "Jethro's Pad." One of my favorite color episodes. A great one! (Jethro explains what super stereo Hi-Fi is, to Jed, in it - for all you audiophiles) Just a classic episode. Includes cameo by Edy Williams.
I’m watching a December 1976 episode of “Match Game” on the Game Show Network right now. The producer of the show, Mark Goodson, came out and thank everyone on the show....and, of course, the host Gene Rayburn. I assume everyone on the show has died because it’s been so long. One of the panelists’ name caught my eyes….Fannie Flagg. I googled her and she’s still alive. She actually went on to write the novel called “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” and the screenplay for the movie version, "Fried Green Tomatoes", and was nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay.
This: I read on here that Jack Benny was in Casablanca, a cameo I never noticed, and while images from a search showed it, I went to you tube to find the clip - not gonna put on a Blu-ray just looking for one second of Jack Benny - but I found this: Humphrey Bogart on the Jack Benny Program. Pretty darn funny if you like Humphrey Bogart movies at all. His part starts around 14:20.
The Recruit on Netflix, 8 episodes with hopefully a renewal on the way. I thought this was a good story, 24 year old freshly out of law school goes to work with the CIA. A drama with a touch of humor but more importantly it doesn't take itself too seriously. Action but fairly realistic, no superhero totally unbelievable stuff.
The Twilight Zone - "The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine" One of my top ten episodes of the series by all means. I LOVE this one. Starring Ida Lupino, above.
I binged most of Imposters season 1 on Netflix the other night. What a fun series, so many twists and turns. It has a nice amount of moral ambiguity/complexity when it comes to the "good guys" and "bad guys" as well. Love it.
Just watched Reservation Dogs on Hulu. This show was fantastic. If you watch it, watch with the caption on.
