The Underbelly Files:Chopper, Much better than it should have been. Uncle Harry from The Sullivans played Chopper's old man.
Law and Order: SVU spoilers follow. As anyone who watches this thread knows, you know I watch a lot of TV-it's definitely my vice. As you can also guess I have quite a backlog of shows to watch from my already straining DVR. One show that I have watched for many years is Law and Order: SVU, one that has been on for 19 seasons now. The last episode before the Olympics took over was one of the best ever, and it dealt with the very sensitive issue of the right to die ("The Undiscovered Country"). It featured incredible acting (Abigail Hawk, who has played the dependable "Baker" on Blood Brothers for many years, plays a mother with a son who has a rare DNA disorder and wants to let him die-it's a shattering performance and something she never gets to do on the other show), and the exit of long time ADA Rafael Barba, magnificently played by Raul Esparza. It also featured the return of Jack McCoy, played for a million years on the original Law and Order by Sam Waterston. Barba does something impulsive, and ultimately life-changing, which causes him to question everything about the law and himself. You don't often see network shows, especially ones as long in the tooth as this one, to pop out a standout episode in it's 19th season, but this one was gut wrenching, thought provoking, and quite rewarding to faithful viewers of both shows (McCoy is shown speaking at the funeral of his predecessor in the D.A.'s office Ben Stone, an original Law and Order character played by Michael Moriarity).
For me these days its either some series on the History Channel, sports or Series and movies from Netflix. I did really enjoy the German series Babylon Berlin
Black Mirror S3 E4 - San Junipero. Another excellent episode. Highly recommend watching this Netflix series. Kind of a modern day Twilight Zone.
"An Evening With Fred Astaire"... the '58 original airing, followed by the '59 rerun version. I'll bet Barrie Chase carbonated a few hormones back then...! - Kevin
