    Okay but why anime though?

Director Kenji Kamiyama is probably most well known for the Ghost in the Shell TV series, so it'll probably be great....

    ...but why anime, though?

Haven't seen a peep about this since the June announcement. Mostly just bumping here.

I don't have an issue with anime. It is a very valid art form that can bring out things visually better than live action can in many cases.

I just don't know about the story here. I never saw Helm's story as "a legendary battle which helped shaped Middle-earth". Did it change some things over time? Yea, but, when comparing it to other larger events that occurred in all the books, I just don't see much value there. Two factions of men who wanted power and land. All of it ending with Helm dead and frozen solid outside in the long winter. I guess they can add story to the horn that was blown during the battle of Helm's Deep with the orks when Salomon attempted to defeat the men of the north, but, in my opinion, that is such a minor element it doesn't matter much. His legend comes from him running around punching people to death (and, as some things hint, he ate people). I'll watch it, but none of the characters involved in this story really interest me much.

It's absolutely a real shame. I more than loathe the way Netflix, Amazon and the rest of the US streaming companies are buying their way into anime. Cultural imperialism at its finest.
