Yeah, like most of them. But since I got mine for free, I can breath a sigh of relief, sit back and enjoy. (Please excuse me for being arrogant and obnoxious, but I really do feel vindicated.)
so did anyone figure out what happened as to why they held this back and opened it back up? still available.
just as this thread went to sleep...weird. What were they pulling? I'm wondering if they are going to close this out after all? as I said years back...something is up and I'd like to know.
...nothing nefarious...just makes no sense why they would hold back on selling the box then open it up totally...still open and still in "stock"...so many paid a premium while Rhino they had a bunch left and held them back...I am ASSUMING this hypothesis..
I wonder if they're selling boxes now that AXS is airing the show. Maybe they held some back in hopes that someday it'd be back on the air.
Why would you think they would hold off selling them and hold them for a future date? It's not like they increased the price or anything. It's pretty obvious that they found / assembled more stock. With the sizable investment they made in restoring the show I'm certain they would want the return on that sooner than later.
Good Point. They spent Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars (correct me if i'm wrong) restoring these. Plus the publishing clearances yadayadayada and, yes, it's pricey, but the product (Video) is SOOOOO good that it's a fair deal. Now if they botched up the Video restoration then it would be a rip off, But they Didn't. Just sayin........ Beave
And I'm "just sayin..." that if they had been "professional" and "customer respectful" for "botching up" the packaging, I'd give them a break. But a group of us got deflective packaging with no resolution and "zero response" from the company for months after purchase. Only after several months of dealing with a product dispute through my credit card company did I get "total satisfaction". It just left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially since it now is clear, and becoming clearer by the day, that they could have easily and competently replaced the damaged box.
The bottom line is that with all of the hundreds and hundreds of CD and DVD/Blu-ray box sets that I own, if there was ever any problem with packaging or disc defects, it always got replaced. No questions asked. Especially online.
They've always made things right with me. I am so appreciative of Rhino and Andrew. Who else would invest this much into The Monkees? Had Sony got the rights, we wouldn't have a 3rd of what we have now. Thank God for Andrew and 7A.
