You can't buy 'Present' it's there, but you can't put it in your cart. I don't know why they leave that page up as it's been sold out for a year now. However you can still buy the MOTM box set.
I ended up getting a copy when the price was cut to $150 around Black Friday. (It finally arrived the day after Christmas, and I was amazed it was sans the construction problems others have written about.) The sale ended up being extended well into January, but I had noticed some time in February that the set was back to its original price. It is a bit surprising to see the set now being sold out. After two and a half years, I figured it would always be available. [While I still regret the set only includes a smattering of alternate soundtracks, I do like the transfers, and seeing the restored Screen Gems logo at the end of each episode was a nice surprise. I also love the fact they went with a perfectly quiet menu screen (after years of enduring the godawfully loud menu screens the DVDs have).]
??? That had to have sold out long ago. Good luck though. It’s a great box, so if it is available then grab it. Edit: I guess it is still available! I’m stunned. Instant Replay (Deluxe Edition)
Man, I would love to jump in to buying these deluxe edition CDs, but having missed so many that are now sold out, it'd be too depressing. Snooze you lose I guess.
Is there a better example of a band who had so many quality tracks in the vault but released such arguably inferior material as The Monkees did with IR? I just listened to it again today and I’m actually a BIG fan of ‘Shorty Blackwell’. I think it speaks volumes that Mike and Micky don’t touch that record on the current tour but are regularly playing the outtakes ‘St. Matthew’ and ‘Some of Shelly’s Blues’.
The blu-ray set looks to be back in stock, as it’s being offered for sale again. (Bet they took it out of the store for a few weeks to boost interest.)
You can leave your email for notification when it’s back in stock. Link: The Monkees - Complete TV Series Blu-ray
I bet there's someone on fiver.com who would chisel "The Monkees" on your headstone for the cost of a pack of cigarettes.
After moving into our new flat, had to see if the intro still had the incredibly boomy bass notes. Watching Too Many Girls, I can confirm it was not a problem anymore - AND the show continues to look incredible.
Like a fool I dragged my feet at $200. Now I'd pay that in a second. Alas, I've missed the boat for sure now. Its been gone for a year. I toss and turn at night beating myself up. I look at my shelf of Monkees deluxe boxed sets which will forever stand incomplete. Why why why was I such a cheapskate? Why did I not invest in this fine pacakage?
No truer words have even been spoken. In fact, not only do I nominate for Best Post of the Week award, this may make top ten for the year! Love, Your Auntie Grizelda
