Can't read the whole thread but my wife does not tolerate Steely Dan … and Bodishattva in particular....:sigh:

Edit. Have now read the whole thread and realise I may be alone in this …
She is not too enthusiastic about Rush either.

Mine too . She’d rather watch an ASPCA commercial then hear a Cocteau tune and she always has to leave the room when those commercials come on.
She also can’t stand Xiu Xiu. I get her back by showing my complete displeasure for Sonic Youth.

Too many to name. Rush would probably come in first.

    I like this thread!

My partner Very suffering when I listen to the Canadian Electro-industrial band Skinny Puppy, he always asks if these sounds and these vocals are instructions and type of frequencies in order to call huge monsters from space to come here and conquer the earth from humanity!
then I tell him that they will not just come here ,they will take him to their planet and never bring him back ,,,, Tough love :D

Kate Bush, he cannot abide Kate Bush. Was the same with Radiohead but eventually warmed to them.

When I thinking about it I think he doesn't like 80% of my beloved music, or maybe even more?:faint:

My girlfriend does not like 99.9 per cent of what is in my collection. Music is not something we share.

Since she's a child of the nineties her favourite bands are Panic at the Disco and Muse. She is also familiar with a smattering of classics picked up from soundtracks, though hardly ever knows the names of the bands. She tends to 'tolerate' my more extensive collection stretching back to the fifties and focussed mainly on my formative decades of the sixties and seventies - Beatles, Stones, Bowie, Waits, Zeppelin, etc.
However, she cannot stand even a few seconds of Captain Beefheart. Not even the more easy listening Safe as Milk.

    Jethro Tull.

She can't stand a single note. Especially once the flute kicks in. I'm ok with it because she enjoys the vast majority of my collection but I've stopped playing Tull when she's home. Their music irritates her so much!

The only music my partner and I can share:
Love "Forever changes" (she really loves this album, actually I bought her a copy as a present)
David Bowie (except Low and Heroes second side)
    The Beatles
    The Hollies
    Prince
    Pet Shop Boys
Lou Reed "Transformer" (I told her he had an album consisting of 1 hour of strict noise but she refused to give it a try)
