Thanks for that, it's quite bijou. Nice to sit on the little verandah with a beer, from my little Budweiser fridge. And listen to favourite 45s.
Here is the system as it currently exists. Sounds pretty good to me. Now playing: Jimi Hendrix.........YES! Rock On. Big T
Just put this old Denon DP-23F back in service. I bought it from a local shop in 2011 for $45 but it's been stored for most of those years. I hooked it up in my library with my TV based stereo (Marantz PM5005 and NHT Super Zero speakers). I also swapped out the old Stanton L37S cart for an AT450NE which is a great universal mount cartridge with a nude elliptical stylus. These are really neat old auto turntables if you find one in good working order:
And unlike some of the new models, I like that they retained the silver arm and other accents. Makes the black pop more.
. Yes,all the hardware on the 1200 LTD is 18k. @Slick Willie Apologies,my phone camera didn't quite capture that detail very well , here's a better pic below from one online.
I knew a model had that trim, just couldn't recall what model of 1200 it was. Was that the JPN only one?
Nah, AFAIK the MK4 and MK6 were the only japan only ones. Both the golden LTD and GLD were released world wide.
Very nice all around--great album there. Your acrylic looks like glass. What're you using there? Mine is in need of some TLC but only so many hours...
Thanks! I have had both acrylic covers custom made by a Dutch company (both were under $80 including shipping). I am sure there must be companies doing similar work in the US ?! Having the same, transparent acrylic covers for both turntables brings them really up to date imho. The original covers (one being dark brown, one being dark grey) make them look so dated and don't do them any justice.
Thank you. Mostly plain black examples to be found here in EU, so this one was re-veneered in walnut by a specialist.
