This is going to sound like the "Mutual Admiration Society", but when I looked at your profile earlier I loved the clean look of your listening room. It looks like a really great space.
Thanks! It's actually our living room. Walls and floor are desperately in need of a total renovation but I keep postponing it.... because the music sounds so great .
The website is still up…they had a new line in 2019 which looked really nice but “not taking new orders” isn’t a good sign…
Mine is somewhere in this thread I believe, but here's a recent photo. Transrotor Fat Bob S turntable, Acoustic Solid Arm, Benz Micro Ebony L cartridge. Sitting atop an isolation base I designed, 2 1/2" of maple block w smoked finish, atop other hidden layers of MDF and steel, sitting on Townshend isolation (spring) pods:
-Acoustic Signature WOW XXL Table -Acoustic Signature TA 1000 Tonearm -Synergistic Research UEF Record Weight -Iso Acoustics ZAZEN II -Upgraded Power Supply Acoustic Signature AC-10 Cartridge -Phasemation PP-200
Nice looking setup, I'd love to try one of the Phasemation cartridges, have looked at both the PP-200 and PP-300 but so far held off. I take it you like it a lot?
Thanks I replaced a HANA-MH with the Phasemation and for the cost difference I was expecting a fairly positive improvement but what I got was a major level up it was a huge improvement I have already started putting money away for the PP-1000 for my next cart.
Interesting. Wasn't familiar with Phasemation carts. Even lower output than my Cadenza Black. Anyone compared the Cadenza w a Phasemation 200 or 300?
Slapped some Isonoe feet on my Technics SL1500C for the hell of it. They're solidly constructed, nicely finished, and definitely isolate better than the stock feet. I just wanted to start the year off on the right foot...
Yep. May have got a little carried away. Nobody home to bother but the pets- let 'er rip! Plenty loud with zero feedback. House is rumbling.
I splurged on a set of Isonoes, felt weird spending that much on turntable feet. As soon as I had them in my hands, they felt like a bargain. And then finding out how well they actually work, icing on the cake.
Did you go all-in and get the sorbothane + glass landing pads too? I could see myself adding those, if not for the sake of overkill, then for the sake of putting my turntable on a non-slippery surface. Those ball bearings under the Isonoe's, even though they don't roll, are very easy to slide around on the slab of wood it's all perched on. I keep checking the position of the feet to make sure they aren't drifting. So far they haven't shifted. I pictured blissfully rocking out when all of a sudden the turntable wanders off the platform as a sucky potential. I might just take the slab back out to the shop and Forstner in some lightly recessed cups for the new feet to rest in...
I didn’t spring for the domes/glass inserts, though I’ve been considering it. I do plan on getting a plinth for the table to sit on, with Stillpoints beneath, though. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, as they say.
