Hi all, here's my Technics SL-110 with an Audiomods Series VI 10.5 inch tonearm, cartridge is AT33 PTG/II:
Do I really have to begin a new picture hosting service to post pictures here? I am using Google pictures currently but that doesn't seem to work copying the link there. Suggestions?
It's free and incredibly easy to use Postimage. You don't even have to load an app on your phone because the mobile friendly web site works so well. Postimage.org — free image hosting / image upload To make this post on topic here's the Sony P-mount linear tracker in my living room:
I've posted pics of my main turntable here several times over the years (the one in my avatar). I've been having quite a bit of trouble getting it to balance on a Minus K platform using a second arm tower, which is quite heavy (30lbs) because the Minus K wants to see center mass, and the whole affair is complicated by the fact that I use a plinth-- an HRS platform-- between the Minus K top plate and the turntable 'modules'- I'm bringing this table back on line to mount a second arm and plan on moving it into my main system to see how it plays. It is the original iteration of the Technics SP-10, not the very earliest example, but still early. It is not the more desirable Mk II or III with the better motor, speed controller or heavier platter. However, I bought this turntable new, in 1973 or so, when it was considered state of the art. I recently had it restored by Bill Thalmann, who did a Krebs update to the electronics. The first arm that will be installed will be a Kuzma 4 Pt 9"-- the same arm I had intended to install as a second arm on the Kuzma. IMG_0537-1 by bill hart, on Flickr
I just got my cartridge back from Soundsmith. I mounted it back on the tonearm myself. I did good, as it is working beautifully.
Here is my game room's AT-LP1210-USB playing a copy of The Cars' Heartbeat City. That was a brand new unopened record club copy, no noise, clean, just sounded really good. I'm upgrading the cart to a VM540ML which arrives next week... There's a thread with a buzz about the cart elsewhere here...
