I am now watching Wayne, O'Hara, etc. THE QUIET MAN, on TCM. One more " Beloved Classic Of The Golden Age Of H'Wood " to check off of my list!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to WATCH, not post about watching while I watch it more, so anything more I say will be said later!
I actually saw this for the first time in a theater last St Patrick's Day. Watched it on TV yesterday. Very charming movie and I can understand why it is so well loved.
It's actually going to be playing at the local 1930s vintage theater here in the next few weeks. I am definitely going.
This was a rare film that my old man loved and that I agreed with him. He was very insistent that I had to sit with him and watch it. I was roped in pretty quickly, and we aren't Irish. The fight is the centerpiece of it of course and the old man laughed with every blow. My 97% Irish wife and I have watched it a few times and now I really love the Leprechaun short guy and when the fishing Reverend throws his fishing pole in the creek.
