Oh dear. Glad you missed what seems to be their best show in years?

Sure it was a great show, I meant just that one song, I’m not a fan of the guest appearances.

The band are in great form.

??? Patrick Woodruffe is his given name and lighting designer/creative director is his title on the tour. The stage designer's name is Ray Winkler...

From all accounts this tour is going splendidly. They are in fine form. Seriously unbelievable.

Just got back in from St Mary's in Southampton.
Hadn't seen them since Newcastle 1990 with Bill Wyman.

They seem to be doing the same oldies but mixing it up a bit so tonight "Start Me Up" was the first song.

The Rolling Stones Setlist at St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton

Loved the show and thought the video backdrop was excellent. For a stadium (about 25000 there) the sound was fine to my ears.

    Or possibly Southampton FC's colours...

Whatever, that is a great photo. And I have just seen that they played Sweet Virginia. Damn!

    Utterly fantastic.

You know, this music will live for a very long time but sadly the guys that wrote and play it will not. Generations to come will be listening to this music, ruing the fact that they were born way too late to see the Stones perform the songs live. I count myself fortunate that I have seen these chaps perform these songs before my very eyes and have the opportunity to do so again in a few weeks time.

Not to mention those already born who never got around to it.

 Circumstances have never allowed me to see the Stones, my favourite band...talk about yer injustices!

Please come back to North America, guys. You don't have to play Edmonton or Calgary, even Vancouver will do...

Last nights gig was really great, one of the best gigs I've ever been too.

Just as a general thing, it is always sooooo great to hear a live version of "Satisfaction" trailing off at the end, with the fireworks and pyro tacked on the ending. Love that.

No, can't say as I have. The only Stones related book I have read is Keith's autobiography. I take it you recommend the one you mentioned?

It's always funny to observe those who claims The Stones can't cut it anymore or are just a money-milking machine, are those who haven't experienced them in concert. All they do is to sit behind their PC and moan. I haven't yet met a person who wasn't somehow impressed with what this band are doing in concert.

North America is a possibility. You may need to dust off your passport.

No- I may need to apply for a new passport if it comes to that...hopefully they will play somewhere in Western Canada, saving me the trouble.
