just shows how musically talented they were, for 16 year olds. then there was the guitar tuning ACK lol i took qualludes with them and publicly humiliated fowley in public, every chance i got. it was a "draw". do you realize that fowley was one of the very first people i met when i moved here from nyc in 65? he scared me because the addams family was the current hit tv show. i thought lurch came over for snacks and this would be my new "norm".
This thread has piqued my Runaways interest, and I realize I don't have any of their albums on CD, having had several of them on vinyl back in the day. I did a search for more info and found this recent thread. New RUNAWAYS reissues coming in July Pre-ordered both, although I might change my mind if I can find the Mercury Albums set at a good price before then.
The price on this is all over the place. I saw a CD for $29.99 minimum bid on eBay the other day. I want this only because on the Cherry Red CD for Waiting For The Night the fart/raspberry before Gotta Get Out Tonight was removed but the Mercury Anthology has it. In other news I've secured a bona-fide silver disc original of the Tarantura boxset of the Tokyo concerts June 5/6 1977.
What I want to know is how someone got a photo of the inside of my 12 year old brain while daydreaming on my bed? And how the hell did it get to Japan?
That bootleg Japan box looks like a fine thing to have. If you take the Live In Japan cd and the Flaming Schoolgirls cd, you can compile their Japan concert setlist in soundboard quality, minus Heartbeat, Johnny Guitar and Don’t Abuse Me.
I already have CD-Rs of it and listened for the first time yesterday. I'm going to put Don't Abuse Me from June 6 up on YT later. The vocal phrasing is totally different, never heard it sung this way before. Also, evidently Cherie was selling a CD-R at one point of Shibuya Kokaido June 12, 1977. The one person I know that has it thinks it's a soundboard. So I need to get that also.
Thanks for posting that. Not a fan of Don't Abuse Me, at all, but that's a nice solo by Lita. She didn't play on the studio version.
My chest was 'a thumpin', my heart was 'a pumpin' .. thought I was gonna get to see Joan in a bikini ; zoomed in the pic, and .. nope ! ~ black leather at the beach ! .. now that's a true rock 'n roll rebel !
I really wish Cherie and her sister Marie had put out a second album because Messin' With The Boys is awesome. It's basically the Currie sisters backed by Toto.
I went to this show and they blew me away. They were such a good live band and unfortunately the media was not ready for them,
