Nick Lowe had a song titled Shake and Pop with slightly different lyrics as They Called It Rock on an album with two different titles Jesus of Cool and Pure Pop For Now People.

“Star Star” by the Rolling Stones appears by its original uncensored name (which I’m going to have to censor again here as “Starf*cker”) on the official issue of Brussels Affair.

The Dynatones recorded a song named "Old Habits Die Hard" on their 1988 album Shameless. Other people have recorded it as well such as Dusty Springfield and Emmylou Harris - it was written by professional songwriters Terry Britten and Graham Lyle. Neville Brothers and Hall & Oates have also recorded the song, under the title "Give It Up (Old Habits)."

"Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus was recorded in 1991 by country act The Marcy Brothers under the title "Don't Tell My Heart."

    Two Scottish based ones.

9 to 5 - Sheena Easton became Morning Train (9 to 5) for US market .

Many of Horror - Biffy Clyro becomes When We Collide as horribly covered by X Factor stooge Matt Cardle

Gordon Jenkins' wife Beverly Maher sang Crescent City Blues but as far as I know appeared the song first as part of a suite called The Conductor on Jenkins' album Seven Dreams, from 1953 (go to 5:25 in the video). On the album sleeve and label Crescent City Blues is not credited as a separate track:

There is however on you tube also an acoustic, bluesier version of Crescent City Blues, so this different version might have been released as a single, possibly credited to Beverly Maher (although I cannot find information on such a release).

That's interesting, I never knew it was a part of a suite. The version in the suite is the one I know.

Not a cover version by Cash though, just good old plagiarism. The same thing with "I got stripes" ("On a Monday" by Lead Belly).
