The Shining prequel that never Happened.

After the not so good sequel, Dr. Sleep, I found this story of the prequel that Warners was planning that didn't happen in the end. one of the screenwriters, Glen Mazzara, reveals the planning and the story that would have been told on the screen. it sure sounds like a better film than the one we got.

I found Kubrick's movie to be a disappointment and Jack Nicholson's over-the-top performance a distraction.

 

not sure if it would have been any good given how atrocious the walking dead became on his watch.

 

The synopsis of the story sounds pretty good though. Would’ve liked to see it.

 

That's exactly how I felt on opening weekend and my opinion hasn't changed after re-watching it. I'm not a Stephen King fan so there's that too. He's the backwards case where I like the man but not his work.
