Bobby Darin sings his "Simple Song of Freedom" (hit for Tim Hardin) at the Troub in 1969.. BD studio demo exists, but not on youtube - shall rectify that shortly! Jeff
"If The Love Fits, Wear It" by Leslie Pearl (a minor hit, she wrote the music and co-wrote the lyrics):
She's more well-known as a song writer than as a performer. She wrote and recorded the song "You Never Gave Up On Me" which was a hit for Crystal Gayle, and she also wrote "My Body Keeps Changing My Mind" which Karen Carpenter recorded for her solo album.
Martha Sharp - Single Girl She also did her own version of Born a Woman: Martha Sharp - (songwriter of Sandy Posey's hit "Born A Woman") performs her 1973 version »
BREAD's JAMES GRIFFIN performed his own composition "For All We Know", the same song popularized by The Carpenters.
This destroys the original. His voice is far better and, because he wrote it, he's more involved with it. This is the best version of this tune I've heard. Ed
Cool. A version of this with a decent lyric. The Beach Boys' lyric (particularly the "Bermuda/Jamaica/Take ya" nonsense) is pretty bad. This is a bit more interesting, though it's not a hit like the Beach Boys recording so obviously was. Ed
Tony Joe White - Steamy Windows. One of 4 songs he wrote for Tina Turner's 1989 album Foreign Affair.
When Adam Levine's version of Lost Stars from Begin Again became a hit, Gregg Alexander & Danielle Brisebois did a few versions themselves. These are notable for being Gregg's first public performances after New Radicals. His voice is a little shot nowadays due to lack of practice, but still wonderfully emotive.
