Great news, indeed. I have been waiting a long time to see this again. The only time I saw this was an airing on TV over 25 years. I have been waiting to see it again. I am also very interested in the TAMI show because I was in my mid-teens when the show happened.

Ive never seen it. Only bits and pieces. A holy grail video for me for sure. That and the TNT.

So I guess this means Sting can finally get rid of his old VCR tape.

It was probably an old Beta tape, anyway. ;)

Right up my alley!!! Thanks for the great news, Steve! I remember seeing the "patched together" version of this and another film "The TAMI/TNTShow", I think when I first got cable in the early 80's. There was even a home video <VHS> release of it and almost every Blockbuster/video store had a copy for rental. Since then, it really disappeared. This being the "real deal" finally is very exiting!:goodie:

This really is good news. I saw The TAMI Show in the theatre when it was first released, and I believe once again in the late 60s/early 70s at our local "Underground Cinema."

As I'm reading the Autotune thread concurrently with this one, it occurs to me what a contrast there is between records made back then (and the live performances thereof) and what we have today.

If my opinion means ANYTHING in this matter (which I KNOW it really doesn't--but anyway), Kevin's LIVEFEED is a simply STUNNING process. I've seen the demo, and I am SO sold!

I can't wait!! I saw the 16mm version of it in college and the Beach Boys' segment was cut out. I hope this one has the BB in it as well as crisp new sound!!!

The TAMI show was the summer drive in hit of 1965 in Tucson AZ. This movie ran for about three months at the old Apache Drive In.Also on the bill would be three other movies - mostly AIP teen or horror type flicks that changed weekly. Those were the days.Four movies a night and only $1.50 a carload at the Apache. After seeing the TAMI show at least adozen times that summer I knew it by heart back then. Charlie

Oh cool. I can hear a live version of "Oh Micky" :D

I love this movie. I haven't seen it for years and even then, it was from an "Nth generation" VHS copy

I'll have to play the Jan and Dean theme song to celebrate!

Well, being a TDK tape it should still play fine.

    This is fantastic news! :righton:
It was filmed in Electronovision (videotape later
transferred to 35 mm). It looks like they couldn't locate the raw camera video tapes. Brother Records owns a master of the Beach Boys segment. It was recently released on the SOUNDS OF SUMMER DVD.
    Can't wait!

Martha & The Vandellas were in The TAMI Show? I don't remember seeing them.
