What was the date of the last Tonight Show with Johnny Carson to be shot in NY before they moved to Burbank? Was there a gap between the last New York show and the first California broadcast on May 1 1972? Thanks.

 

I think May 1, 1972 was the first Burbank episode. Judging from this clip, there was an interim period with guest hosts.
