Can´t say I did. He, he... One of the worst SAW singles, IMO. (I like her duet with Nick Cave, "Step Back in Tïme", "Confide in me" (the video mix) and "Can´t Get You Out of My Mind". Otherwise she seems an amiable human being, so I am pretty sure I would love to meet her.
Here he is... Rod Stewart fills potholes outside his Essex estate: ‘My Ferrari can’t go through’ - YouTube (I am not a Guardian reader, but it was the first clip I could find. It'll do.) I wouldn't like to meet her. I don't even like to think about her.
I have all Kate's albums, but a few of them, especially the post Hounds of Love ones have been a victim of me having so much music. They haven't been played anywhere near enough even though I know they're good.
I judged them on appearance in ‘76. Then a mate brought ‘Destroyer’ around to my place. He put it on my turntable without telling me who it was. That’s when I got it. It’s not - well, it wasn’t - just about the cartoon image. They carried a decent rock song in their heyday. Seen then about 8 times now. Each show is certainly an event. Their albums tend to be all same-y at this point in their career, but doesn’t that happen to most acts? A genuine marmite band. You get it or you don’t. I’m hoping they do another farewell tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the last one
I generally have always dismissed Kiss as a lightweight joke Rock band. But... I do own and enjoy Destroyer and.....Music From (The Elder) which as far as I know is by and large their most hated album. Taste is a strange thing indeed. Otherwise, Style over substance has always been my take on Kiss.
Hmm. I suspect their most famous/memorable performance was to ‘The Witch’ (by The Rattles). Witch’s hat, witch’s slinky black dress, witch’s black stockings and witch’s high heels (black). Imprint remains far more than the dog .
Indeed so. Very strange. I read on one thread a couple of days back someone trying to defend the Pet Shop Boys…… We put up with a lot for the love of music. But we’re grown ups. We know there should always be room for all genres. Except rap, obviously….
I liked early Kate Bush nothing much after 1985 did much for me. That newer version of Wuthering Heights on The Whole Story was terrible. The original single should have been on the compilation. I could not take her serious after this. Like i said Kates early albums are brilliant.

School's Out climbs to #1. Yeah! The only true stinker there, for me, is Puppy Love.
You must have been rolling in money to buy all those. I didn’t start buying singles until 1973, though, ironically, my first single was from the chart you posted. Must have been half price or something. Anyway, that single was Puppy Love. I make no apologies. 2nd single though was Hell Raiser, which may redeem me a little.
This is a chart I do remember. 49 years ago this week. So poor were we, I only had 3 of these singles and one of those was technically my dad’s (The Carpenters).
Have to confess to only knowing 5.7.0.5 and was a cheapskate with Rich Kids, just buying the Rich Kids single in its red sleeve. Rich Kids; bit of a supergroup.
That's another great chart with some of the singles I inherited in there. The wonderful Roy Wood and Wizzard, a couple of Suzi Q and Hawkwind before it was withdrawn due to very unfortunate timing with a horrific terrorist act. One I didn't know at the time, but bought the album later, was Albert Hammond:
I'd been buying a few singles, and the occasional album, from 1969. In 1972 though I acquired a morning & evening paper round; plus started doing Saturday jobs for neighbours. Nearly all my 'wages' went on singles/albums & music mags. A few of those songs I highlighted were via a 'parent' album; others were ex-jukebox or from the Woolies 'bargain bin' (when they'd just dropped out of the charts). '72/'73 were my splurge years. By early '74 I'd stopped buying singles altogether, and wouldn't start again until punk kicked in late '76. Anyway, from exactly 50 years ago, here's Slade's Take Me Bak 'Ome. They were such a fabulous singles band.
