"Baby, I Love You" can't wait another day. We've reached the final. Remember that you're still voting for the weakest link, and not the song you want to win. Discussion question: What would your personal final pair and winner have been? Baby, I Love You (Round 6) I Can Hear Music (Round 5) Do I Love You? (Round 4) (The Best Part Of) Breakin' Up (Round 4) Is This What I Get For Loving You? (Round 3) Why Don't They Let Us Fall in Love (Round 3) I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine (Round 3) I Wonder (Round 3) Born To Be Together (Round 2) You Baby (Round 2) So Young (Round 2) When I Saw You (Round 2) Paradise (Round 1) Here I Sit (Round 1) You Came, You Saw, You Conquered (Round 1) Everything Under The Sun (Round 1)
"Walking In The Rain" to vote off, so that's "Be My Baby" for the win. DQ?: Any combination of "Be My Baby", "Baby I Love You" & "I Can Hear Music" would all work for me & any one of them winning, on any given day... this is a great final & while I have a clear winner, either song is terrific & well worthy of being on the winner's circle- though "Be My Baby" will most certainly be that winner (I thought "Baby I Love You" would be the runner-up) The other Ronettes song that I love that much is "Sleigh Ride"... just behind the fab four faves would be stuff like "Walking In The Rain", "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" & "Frosty The Snowman"... and a few others too probably, but that's good enough for now. Love, Light & great gratitude to Ronnie Spector for all the Love & wonders that she shared & brought to our lives- through all those slow dances & fast dances that we dance to the end of Love/Life itself/ourselves... save that last dance for the end of (any/all/every) me, to return the We beyond that that is the One-ness (OM) of All. Dance on Ronnie, as you dance on to ranscend & become Ronnie Beyond! Shhhhh, lean in with now... I think I Can Hear Music!
I would have expected Baby I Love You in the final against Be My Baby, and probably voted for Be My Baby as the slightly less great of the two. Both are better than Walking In The Rain. But my ultimate, outsider favorite is Born To Be Together.
"Walking in the Rain". My preferred final would have been "Be My Baby" vs. "Do I Love You", with BMB triumphing by a hair. A great, underrated song. .
Voted for Be My Baby earlier as the weaker of these two (not kidding) and my final pair would have been these two. I could not expect anything to beat Be My Baby though.
A deserved winner. Doesn't get more classic than that. As previously stated my top two would have been Be My Baby, and I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine for second place (not so much for the interesting lyric but for the wonderful music).
I think these are my Top 2 also! "Born to Be Together" is so exuberant, and so...quintessential 1965!
