This. The Beatles are the literal Big Bang of modern music. W/o them we're still enduring whatever descends from Fabian and Lawrence Welk.

I enjoyed the movie. I usually don't like Beatles covers but Himesh Patel did a good job with them. Lily James was lovely. A fun bit of fluff in an era sadly lacking them.

Not true at all. The British Invasion had them lined up already.

I saw the movie. Lily James reminded me of an old girlfriend. I’d give it a 6/10 rating.

If I had paid to see this movie, I would have asked for my money back.

    That's a no from me.

I'm not interested in seeing this at all. Not even when it comes out on video or streaming or whatever. Zero interest.

Just saw it with my wife-had a hint of the "twist" but still fought back tears-I think without mentioning spoilers-I came to the realization of the real cost of fame.

He specifically looked up quotes on Yoko's eating George's Digestive Biscuits, and everyone in the theater went "huh"?????

    You’re very welcome.

Would a straight “no” have pleased you more?

I realize this is a different section of the forums and maybe not everyone is in on the "digestive biscuit" jokes that circulate around the Beatles 1969 threads. No spoilers here.

I think you are overthinking this a little. They have very little Beatle influence (except Karma Police), Paranoid Android is more a Bohemian Rhapsody for the 90s.

Except they literally said "Paranoid Android" was based upon "Happiness is a Warm Gun".

Love the Beatles, was fine with the movie. No it's not "Citizen Kane" - or even "Always Famous" - but it was nice break from an endless stream of Marvel Comics/Superhero movies. Cute movie, great music. Perfect for summer.

At my local Alamo Playhouse they ran the following Bollywood clip as part of the pre-movie entertainment. I can't unwatch it . . .

Sigh. I saw it last night and thought it was a nice little movie and a good way to spend a couple of hours. I guess I should have known that some people here would declare it a crime against humanity.

Took the wife to see it yesterday. Glad she didn't go with me 3 weeks ago, as she guessed the biggest spoilers right away.

She enjoyed it, and she is not a Beatles person usually.

It has to be a "no" from me. Not a terrible movie but I can't say I enjoyed it.

I said, a long time before it came out, that it would be considered heresy by the ultra-orthodox Beatleites.

    Yes.

(And as I mentioned on the other 'Yesterday' thread, it's a great watch and a lot of fun).

I liked it, but was hoping for more. For one, anytime any other song played not written by John, Paul or George, it sounded inferior and it wasn't even close.

No. As we can make up another band that didn't exist
and there from another country like greenland..
that now all led zeppelin songs..
